alright, I know what I want to do now. but its basically "the space battle is continuing as earlier said" so unless you have something new to throw at them, or if something is going to change greatly on your end, I'm gonna jump forward a few hours so other things can happen and not seem rushed.

((HOLY CRAP! Everything's been thrown onto me for the past few weeks, so sorry about that! But yes, you could skip a few hours forward if you like. I have another trick I can pull, but I don't think this is a situation to try pulling it off, it might give too much about me away to everyone. Go ahead and warp time forward, I'm not going to stop you.))

((I marvel at your ability to post the day after I vanish from the face of this board. reasoning? someone who talks a whole damn lot that I hope you never meet))
eight hours passed. the battle had been raging at the same rate the entire time. many of the people on Zimmian's side were growing tired, or hungry. The legion, while held at bay around the planet, were not suffering the same effects. their ships had remained of the same classifications, but were steadily growing larger and stronger over time.
Zimmian continued to be a major factor in the space battle, while the tuxedo man was doing a very good job of keeping any landing parties from getting to safety.
meanwhile, far into the distance, near the rear of the fleet, a massive being waited. scanners could still tell no more than that it was there, and that it was strong. but at the current rate it was no threat. they would all be dead long before it got there.
and then something happened. a bubble surrounded the planet. it was as if it was entirely cut off from existence. a ship was in low orbit, inside the field. almost all of Zimmian's allied fleet was inside it as well. any legion ships inside were destroyed quickly. Zimmians commands were heard around the planet once more "Rest while you can, we have been bought a few hours peace."
---
Zimmian had called together most of the more powerful beings on the planet to a single room. "One of my flagships, the Interdictor, has bought us time. it creates pockets in reality. we are in one. the legion cannot get in easily. but if we keep it up for too long, they will break in. and if they do, then we will have lost. the ship brings word that my other flagships will arrive when we break the shield down. unfortunately, my time manipulation ship is undergoing repairs. or construction. its complex."
"I have called two other forces to aid us, beyond my own army. one has fought these beings many times. they are under a weaker assault as we speak, but they will prevail soon, if I am correct. they will be a great aid. the second force I called are a group of individuals. super soldier project. a successful one, and ne I did not do. granted, they still turned against the group that made them, escaped, and went their separate ways. I can explain it in full later. the short version is that we'll have someone who can control the elements, a tracker, someone capable of negating energy as a whole. kinetic, thermodynamic, pure, magic, whatever the hell you ask. um. . . hell, I can't remember the others. oh, and we might have a group of interreality mercenaries. but it will take time for them to arrive. we need to hold out several more hours. and to do that, we need rest. so go. I'll wake you in five hours time, when we set up our defensive line again.

((Ah. Well, anyway, Lethal Ties is up and running again, with just me and Zalseon at the moment. Perhaps you'd like to jump back in?))
The Conductor called out to Zimmian while Xorai and the other two men left the room. "Zimmian, they might already be here, but you don't know it. They have their underhanded ways of indirectly fighting their enemies, I know that much."
The tanks and red-haired men stayed in their positions, the tanks' weapons aiming toward the sky and the men staring straight up above them.
Meanwhile, somewhere in the middle of the Legion fleet, another crackling red and rectangular portal opened. And it stayed open, nothing seeming to emerge from it.

Zimmian turn and replied "this battle could go on for several days without rest. the longest any of my soldiers can go in hard combat is 38 hours. if they are allowed rest now, then we will be able to fight longer. The interdictor has completely cut us off from the rest of reality. unless they come through Jahen Roto, we have nothing to worry about. and those cave systems are the most guarded place in the compound. besides, does the legion really seem like the espionage and sabotage type to you?

"No, Zimmian... I'm not talking about the Legion. I'm talking about those mercenaries. I know they work in underhanded ways, they don't always like to fight directly until it's their last ace up their sleeve."

"is that really so evil? I think I got a message through to them just how bad whats going on is. they, or at least their leader, should know the threat if we should fail. if we lose, they lose. they will stop it from ending."
Zimmian paused. he had seemed a bit off this whole time. as if scared.
"and just so you know, if we do fail, you'll be getting a much better deal out of it than me. because you will end when all of everything does. I won't. me, Ravek, and perhaps three or four other beings will be stuck, still existing, even though literally nothing else does. and being trapped for eternity with a small group of people you hate is probably a fate worse than complete and utter nonexistance."
---
The legion took note of the portal. and then began to tear at it. its difficult to describe. suffice to say, they were trying to kill the portal, and doing a fairly decent job of it.

Apparently the portal was closing, only for the Legion to find another portal opening on another side of them. ---
"I'm not worried now about whether they're helping us, Zimmian. The fact is, they are. But I'm telling you they won't give their most direct force unless it's the last card they have in their deck. And I've heard they could destroy everything in the span of the size of a galaxy if they wanted to, but at some kind of huge risk they rarely prefer to take. They're here, Zimmian. They just won't show it. They're inside your planet right now. And who's the super soldier you're speaking of?... and if it's not those red-headed men, then who are those red heads? Do you have any idea?"

The legion retained the strange habit of attacking the portals. it seemed as if they were simply tearing a hole in reality around and through the portal, destabilizing it at the very least.
---
"I don't know who the red-heads are. I didn't call them. but we have dozens of people with enough sway to control an army here, and the legion can't mask themselves that well. my team of supersoldiers were part of something called the hellfire initiative, and their counter force the starsong project. hellfire had a group of powerful beings, alpha who controls the chinese elements, so wood steel wind flame and water, if I recall. there was Omega, who was meant to lead them, but I can't for the life of me remember if I killed him yet or not." Zimmian saw the interesting look on the tuxedo mans face "Time travel. I use it quite often, so half the time I can't tell who should be alive. we fought together at one point, and at another we were mortal enemies. anyway, starsong had someone who was poison to the hellfire people, Theta I think she was called. and Pi manipulates energy. at first it was a simple radiation of a field that disabled hellfire powers, but she mastered it over years and years of trying to get revenge for me causing her death, which I didn't do. we're on better terms now."
"I think it was Delta who manipulated blood. I know at one point we had an epic duel with both of us exclusively manipulating blood. Gamma was a tracker, I think. keep in mind, I haven;t seen these guys in over sixty years, so I could be totally off. Gamma, as I recall, was basically a dog with all his senses hightened to perfection, with mental blocks to keep him from overloading. he was also given human-level intelligence. Zeta is a robot, perfect AI, and capable of manipulating metal he touches, melting it, and storing it in a hypercompressed tank. think 'general grievous' meets one of the later terminator models. every other time someone scans into my future they see me fighting him for years on end in an epic duel, and no-one has been able to see what happens after that, so I think that's either how I'll finally die, or I'm fated to fight him for all eternity. both are acceptable."
"that's all I can remember. but don't take those future-scannings as proof we make it out of this. I have learned that the future is always changing, and by looking at it you change it even more."

He listened closely when he heard Zimmian mention the word terminator. Terminator. He was quite impressed with these super soldiers Zimmian spoke of, but that word made him eventually get an idea. Another of the red-headed men walked by. "YOU!" he pointed at the man, "Who are you?" The red headed man stood stiff and spoke coarsely.
"I am HH-125."
"AHA! What are the rest of you? Terminators?"
"No. We are Heart Hunters. We are designed for more than terminating subjects."
"Why are you here? And where did you come from?"
"All I know is that we are here to assist in terminating the Legion. That is all."

Zimmian smiled. "neat. androids. never really got into those myself. if stealth is my only option, I'll send in a live team. if its combat I need, I won't bother with a human appearance." he was talking more to himself at this point, really.
